What if we embraced the Costa Rican philosophy of life? This small Latin American country is among the happiest in the world. Its secret lies in a positive way of living known as “Pura Vida”.

In Costa Rica, people say “pura vida” at any time of day. Far more than a literal translation of “pure life”, it expresses a true state of mind. It is a warm, friendly greeting, but also a way of saying that everything is good a reminder to appreciate life’s simple pleasures: being alive, being here, and valuing the small joys we receive.

“Pura vida” also means that things will work out in the end. Even in difficult moments, it encourages optimism and trust in better days ahead.

In essence, “pura vida” is a gentle reminder that nothing is more precious than life itself. An invitation to fully enjoy the present moment the only one that truly matters.

At Casa Dina, we chose the name “PURA VIDA” for our poolside bar and snack area to share, in our own way, this positive state of mind.
